Description : A large handsome evergreen conifer tree reaching upto 85 m in height, with almost rough, black, furrowed bark and spreading branches, shoots dimorphic; leaves needle like, triquetrous, sharp, pointed, male cones solitary, cylindric, at the ends of branchlets.
Chemical Constituents : It contains himachalol, allohimachalol, hinadrol, centdarol, isocentdarol, dewarene, dewarol, dewaridol, dewarenol, taxifolin, cedodarin, dihydromyricetin
Uses: Himalayan cedarwood oil is also called Deodar Cedarwood Oil. It is steam distilled from the wood of Cedrus Deodara which grows at high altitude in the mountains of Himalaya, toward northern India, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Himalayan Cedarwood Oil is a yellowish to brownish yellow oil, somewhat viscous and of rich, sweet woody, almost balsamic odor, closely reminiscent of Atlas cedarwood oil.
